Before the Battle - The ELPhi Pre-Battle Checklist
A field-ready checklist for keeps, presets, generals, subs, buffs, devices, voice communications, and last-minute battlefield entry.
Mission Objectives
- Enter battlefield with combat settings already prepared.
- Reduce lag, missed buffs, and role confusion during the opening minutes.
- Give the team a checklist that can be reused before every match.
Why This Matters
Preparation is invisible until something is forgotten. The first five minutes of a match should be spent reading the battlefield and applying temporary buffs, not discovering Shajar on the wall or empty subordinate cities.
Every team is different, so roles may be combined or omitted. The checklist protects the universal fundamentals while allowing leadership to choose the formation.
How Battlefield Actually Works
Monarch gear, talent tree, culture, Civilization Treasures, dragon talents, Blazons, skins, subordinate-city troops, wall generals, Duty Officers, Senate appointments, and march presets can all change account performance without changing visible keep power.
Allstars and other crowded battlefields may lag, disconnect, stick marches, or ignore speed items. Players should know how to clear errors, ghost, reconnect, and document failures for Customer Service without flooding tactical voice communications.
Battle Plan: Step by Step
- Complete the keep, troop, preset, general, sub-city, and device checklist before registration closes.
- Assign chat-bubble colors only to the rally setter and designated callers.
- Join voice communication before entering and ask whether ports and the match state allow late entry.
- Apply temporary one-hour attack, defense, HP, march-size, and march-speed buffs after landing.
- Use the first five minutes to confirm roles, ports, objectives, and rally channels.
Optimization by Account Style
Free to Play
Preparation is the cheapest battlefield buff available.
Low Coiner
Use the checklist to ensure paid buffs and equipment are actually active when they matter.
Heavy Coiner
Create a second person who can verify setters, callers, and late-entry status so account power is not wasted through setup mistakes.
Alliance Leaders
Customize roles for the roster instead of declaring every suggested role mandatory.
Common Battlefield Mistakes
- Turning off rally visibility for the setter.
- Leaving colored chat bubbles on for everyone.
- Entering late without checking available ports.
- Using monster Blazons or development monarch settings.
- Forgetting subordinate-city troops and losing their debuffs.
- Talking about lag in tactical voice instead of clearing the error and continuing.
Evony Logic & Philosophy - The ELPhi System
Discipline before the battlefield creates freedom during the battlefield.
The best teams do not spend the opening fixing preventable mistakes.
Prepare once, verify twice, then fight.
Pre-Battle Checklist
- Turn alliance rally notifications off unless your battlefield role requires them.
- Verify every march preset is full to the intended march size, includes all required layers down to T1, and has the correct main and assistant generals.
- Verify the PvP monarch talent preset, including Critical Strike and the correct combat talents, is active.
- Offer at the Shrine enough times to activate King's Protection when your Shrine level allows it.
- Choose Japan for attack-focused play or Russia for defense-focused play when appropriate to your role.
- Confirm mounted Blazons are PvP sets rather than monster sets.
- Equip the correct healing Civilization Treasure and activate the appropriate Fafnir healing talent when needed.
- Turn dragon talents on. If performance is poor, disable dragon decorations unless they provide battlefield buffs; only yellow and purple decorations provide battlefield buffs.
- Verify every subordinate city is connected, staffed with a PvP debuff mayor, equipped, and assigned a Spiritual Beast where appropriate.
- Fill subordinate-city troops before entry; spend gems when necessary so the subs actually deploy their debuffs.
- Confirm the wall general is the intended PvP wall general and not Shajar or another development general.
- Confirm Duty Officers, Senate generals, and the Embassy general are correctly assigned. Temporarily add equipment to qualify an officer as Super, assign them, then remove the equipment if needed.
- Turn off colored chat bubbles unless you are the rally setter or a designated caller. Give the rally setter a distinct color so rallies are found immediately.
- Turn off alliance war settings unless you are the rally setter or approved backup setter.
- Charge the device, silence phone notifications, join voice communications, and warn the team before arriving late.
- Buy march-speed buffs and activate one-hour attack, defense, HP, march-size, and other temporary combat buffs immediately after entering, preferably during the first five minutes.
- Enable the setting that allows map art to cover march routes when it improves targeting accuracy, understanding that this can hide the visible time remaining on supply carts.
