Server War - Pre-SvS Strategy
Server War is usually won or lost before the portals open. This field manual covers purge, roles, bubbles, preparation, reward planning, boss hunting, and the actions that prevent a server from becoming free points.
Mission Objectives
- Prepare an account and alliance for Server War before scoring begins.
- Understand purge, green bubbles, enemy-server bossing, and the 540M maximum-reward target.
- Build a scoring plan that protects the server while creating individual opportunities.
Why This Matters
SvS is not simply a weekend for attacking strangers. It is a server-wide points exchange. Players earn points by killing enemy troops and completing objectives, while every exposed troop and unbubbled keep can return those points to the opponent.
A server that organizes purge, bubbles, throne contingencies, rally authority, scout coverage, and player roles before the event spends the weekend scoring instead of repairing preventable mistakes.
How Battlefield Actually Works
Blue Wings and Wonder I come from placing in the Top 5 of the Server War individual ranking. Wonder I opens Norway Ridge, the ground dragon in the Dragon Cliff.
The maximum personal reward tier is reached at 540M points and includes Blood of Ares, Battle-Tested fifth-specialty fragments, and other high-value rewards.
An R4 or R5 can place an eight-hour green alliance bubble on an alliance member who drops bubble. This prevents a vulnerable keep from donating points until the player returns and can bubble again.
Purge removes exposed troops and resources from vulnerable home-server keeps before the enemy can score from them. Purge is server preparation, not permission to settle personal arguments.
Players can safely boss on the enemy server by using the five-minute travel bubble: enter, set a five-minute timer, hunt bosses, return home before the protection expires, travel back, and repeat to refresh the bubble.
Battle Plan: Step by Step
- Publish bubble expectations, purge timing, throne rules, and communication channels before SvS begins.
- Identify vulnerable keeps and help them bubble, ghost, reduce exposed troops, or participate in purge before the scoring window.
- Assign roles: rally setters, joiners, scouts, reinforcers, temple teams, throne support, trap keeps, ghostable hunters, and bubble monitors.
- Complete the pre-battle checklist, including wall generals, sub-city mayors and troops, monarch gear and tree, culture, Civilization Treasures, dragons, presets, hospitals, Source of Life, ports, and temporary buffs.
- For enemy-server bossing, set a five-minute timer every time you enter. Return home and re-enter before protection expires. Do not trust memory.
- When an alliance member drops bubble, an R4 or R5 should place the eight-hour green bubble immediately when available.
- Before dropping bubble to score, know the target, the march being used, how the remaining troops are protected, and the exit plan.
- As rank and reward thresholds are reached, reduce unnecessary risk. Protect the score instead of throwing away wings during the final hours.
Optimization by Account Style
Free to Play
Use bossing, scouting, temples, safe objectives, clean rallies, and precision attacks. Stay bubbled when you do not have a defined plan.
Low Coiner
Target the 540M reward threshold with controlled PvP and safe scoring rather than trying to imitate a top rally setter.
Heavy Coiner
Create scoring opportunities for the server, protect weaker players, and avoid personal glory attacks that create a negative server exchange.
Alliance Leaders
Prepare green-bubble coverage, purge policy, throne contingencies, and a clear authority structure before the event.
Common Battlefield Mistakes
- Dropping bubble without a target and exit plan.
- Treating purge as punishment instead of risk reduction.
- Bossing past the travel-bubble timer.
- Leaving Shajar, development mayors, or empty subordinate cities active.
- Continuing risky attacks after securing Top 5 or the desired reward threshold.
- Assuming the server can fix bubble discipline after portals open.
Evony Logic & Philosophy - The ELPhi System
Every point denied to the enemy has the same strategic value as a point earned.
Do not trade points. Farm them.
The player who sets a timer, prepares presets, and leaves cleanly will outscore the stronger player who relies on luck.
Pre-Battle Checklist
- Turn alliance rally notifications off unless your battlefield role requires them.
- Verify every march preset is full to the intended march size, includes all required layers down to T1, and has the correct main and assistant generals.
- Verify the PvP monarch talent preset, including Critical Strike and the correct combat talents, is active.
- Offer at the Shrine enough times to activate King's Protection when your Shrine level allows it.
- Choose Japan for attack-focused play or Russia for defense-focused play when appropriate to your role.
- Confirm mounted Blazons are PvP sets rather than monster sets.
- Equip the correct healing Civilization Treasure and activate the appropriate Fafnir healing talent when needed.
- Turn dragon talents on. If performance is poor, disable dragon decorations unless they provide battlefield buffs; only yellow and purple decorations provide battlefield buffs.
- Verify every subordinate city is connected, staffed with a PvP debuff mayor, equipped, and assigned a Spiritual Beast where appropriate.
- Fill subordinate-city troops before entry; spend gems when necessary so the subs actually deploy their debuffs.
- Confirm the wall general is the intended PvP wall general and not Shajar or another development general.
- Confirm Duty Officers, Senate generals, and the Embassy general are correctly assigned. Temporarily add equipment to qualify an officer as Super, assign them, then remove the equipment if needed.
- Turn off colored chat bubbles unless you are the rally setter or a designated caller. Give the rally setter a distinct color so rallies are found immediately.
- Turn off alliance war settings unless you are the rally setter or approved backup setter.
- Charge the device, silence phone notifications, join voice communications, and warn the team before arriving late.
- Buy march-speed buffs and activate one-hour attack, defense, HP, march-size, and other temporary combat buffs immediately after entering, preferably during the first five minutes.
- Enable the setting that allows map art to cover march routes when it improves targeting accuracy, understanding that this can hide the visible time remaining on supply carts.
